About Powys Communities Online!The Powys Communities Online site aims to present the not-for-profit sector in Powys to a world audience in a coherent and professional manner. It aims to provide help in promoting the activities of community and voluntary bodies at an early stage in their uptake of Internet technologies. The system is designed to enable any eligible organisation to write and design their own site without needing any specialist software or skills, simply by entering information through this website. The organisation must however, have access to the Internet and a contact e-mail address. The websites created through Powys Communities Online will be simple in design, but will facilitate organisations towards making their 'first step' towards having a web presence. The system is free to use for not-for-profit organisations in Powys. The project is funded by the European Union through the Llwybr Pathway project, and by Powys County Council, and forms part of a whole package of projects aimed at helping the people and communities of Powys to become involved in this new 'Information Society'. |
