Montgomeryshire Area Scout Council is the body which oversees and supports the development of Scouting for young people in Montgomeryshire. The Council is a Registered Charity, number 513787, and is Incorporated by Royal Charter.
Scouting started in the United Kingdom in 1907 and is now the largest youth organisation in the world.
Scouting in the United Kingdom consists of five youth training sections:
Beaver Scouts: aged 6 & 7.
Cub Scouts: aged 8-10.5.
Scouts: aged 10.5-14th birthday.
Explorer Scouts: aged 14-18th birthday.
Scout Network: aged 18-25th birthday.
All sections are open to both male and female membership.
